Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission Seeks Applicants from 1st, 4th & 5th Districts

The Santa Cruz County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission is seeking applications for membership. The Commission currently has vacancies in the 1st District (Live Oak, Soquel, Summit, and parts of Capitola), 4th District (Watsonville and South County) and 5th District (San Lorenzo Valley, Scotts Valley).

The Commission is a 10-member volunteer body appointed by the Board of Supervisors to advise the Board and the County Alcohol and Drug Program on alcohol and drug abuse issues through participation in the planning process, development of the goals and policies of the County Alcohol and Drug Program, public education, and review of legislation. Membership on the Commission provides an excellent opportunity to improve your community by addressing an issue that causes enormous personal and family suffering, and costs our community millions of dollars annually.

Please note that conflict of interest provisions prohibit service on the Commission by employees, board members or their spouses who work for alcohol and drug programs contracted by the County.
