Anderson Arrest

Anderson, NathanOn 10/16/13 at approximately 9:30 am, Monterey County Deputies received multiple tips from community members that Nathan Anderson was in a grey Ford F250 truck which was located at a gas station in the Pajaro area of Monterey County. Monterey County Deputies arrived on scene with intent to arrest Nathan Anderson; however, Anderson attempted to evade Deputies by fleeing in the truck, leading to a pursuit.

Anderson led Deputies into Watsonville where Monterey County Deputies were joined by Santa Cruz County Deputies, Watsonville Police and California Highway Patrol. Through the course of the pursuit, Anderson struck several vehicles, including a California Highway Patrol vehicle. In order to mitigate Anderson’s risk to the community, Monterey County Deputies used the Pursuit Intervention Technique to limit Anderson’s ability to continue fleeing the area, which caused Anderson’s truck to become inoperative.

After Anderson’s truck was no longer drivable, Anderson fled on foot in the parking lot of Kmart in Watsonville and attempted to carjack a bystander, but pursuing officers were able to hinder Anderson’s attempts and take him into custody.

Anderson has be arrested for multiple counts including carjacking, vehicle theft, evading law enforcement, and parole violations.
