Annie’sBlankets Tops 100,000 Donated Blankets And Towels

Annie’sBlankets, the non-profit blanket and towel collection service for animal shelters and clinics, announced that it has collected and distributed over 100,000 blankets and towels. The organization has donated the bundled bedding to over one hundred animal shelters, clinics, and wildlife centers in seven Bay Area and Central Coast counties, as well as to outlying animal shelters and rescue groups served by Annie’sBlankets outreach program Cozy Critters Express.

Participating merchants host permanent Annie’sBlankets collection barrels in their stores, while corporations such as Sutter Maternity Center, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Natividad Medical Center, Mission Linen, Monterey Plaza Hotel and the Monterey Care Center have also donated bedding. The organization works in partnership with high-school community service programs, as well as other non-profit groups such as Animal Friends Rescue Project, the Girl Scouts of America, and the National Charity League.

Annie’sBlankets currently has collection barrels at twenty-five Central Coast and Bay Area locations. The organization also conducts outreach efforts; Cozy Critters Express sends bedding to shelters with an immediate, urgent need such as Best Friends Animal Society, Merced County Animal Control, BAD RAP and Home at Last Animal Rescue.
