Aptos Girls

The Aptos girls team won its third straight SCCAL team title, and 10 of the last 12, by besting second-place San Lorenzo Valley 27-72.

Three Mariners followed 1st place Santa Cruz High Senior Cate Ratliff across the finish line. Matti Peoples took second (17:48), freshman Annika Niles was third (17:55) and Annika McBride finished fourth (17:58).

Aptos’ Olivia Quinn took eighth (18:32) and freshman Marea Zlatunich finished ninth (18:37) in scoring for the Mariners while Senior Yulisa Abundis and freshman Olivia Berhan took 10th and 11th respectably.

Aptos is the favorite to win its fourth straight D-III title and return with its fifth CCS title in the last seven years.

Aptos Boys

Aptos seniors Jack Rose (15:49) and Morgan Miller (15:53) took fifth and sixth for the Mariners and freshman Koya Oki (16:06) took eighth.

Aptos, Santa Cruz, SLV and St. Francis all qualified for CCS.

Aptos will compete in D-III and St. Francis in D-V.
