Aptos High School Dance Team’s Fifth Annual Showcase

The annual showcase and fundraiser is Sunday Dec 6 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Aptos High Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10 in advance (online at aptoshs.net) or $12 at the door.

We have been rehearsing for months and are so excited to put on a fabulous show! Styles include, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, tap and ballet! We also have some guest performers joining us in both shows, including Pacific Arts Complex, Dancenter, and Elaine’s Dance Studio.

The money raised will be used for uniforms, costumes, entry fees, costs to attend events perform at football and basketball games, school rallies, other school functions, regional competitions, national competition. Performance season is from August thru March. Tryouts for the new team is usually in May. The team also attends dance training camps over summer. We are looking forward to competing at Disneyland in this year’s Nationals!

Past successes: This is our team’s 5th year and every year the team has qualified to go to nationals to compete in the championship category but due to the costs involved, has attended just twice in the past. The Mariners Dance Team has won NorCal state championships in hip-hop and extra small dance categories.

Our alumni have gone on to qualify for college dance teams at Davis, Irvine, Chico and Sonoma State.

This year’s Mariner roster includes 30 dancers and two coaches Megan Suttaby and Nadia Hinds.
