First win of the season with a 10-5 Gabilon Division victory over Christopher HS. Mariner Highlights: junior Skylar Poulos with five goals and senior Kiegan Lee with three. Goaltenders Desiree Guzman and Kaylee Pryor had six saves apiece.

Santa Cruz 10 – Aptos 9 (Aug 25, Hm*)

In their first game of the season, the Aptos High Mariners battled back from a two goal down in the 4th quarter to take a two-goal lead. However, Aptos couldn’t hold off a late Cardinal rally, resulting in an exciting 10-9 loss. Highlights for the Mariners: goalie Kaylee Pryor with ten saves; Senior, Kiegan Lee, tallied four goals and one assist; both Kamele Nugent and Quinn Youngs scored two goals apiece.
