Aptos Wins SCCAL Tennis Doubles Final

On Tuesday, all three of Aptos High’s players advanced to the SCCAL finals. In the singles matches No. 3 seed Dani Potts, beat No. 2 Andrea Totten of Soquel 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 in the semifinals. Potts faced No. 1 Caroline Casper of St. Francis on Wednesday with Casper winning the Championship.

In doubles action, No.1 seed Teagan Knight and Kelly McMinn of Aptos advanced after winning two rounds while No. 4 Desi Rakela and Nicole LaPorte of Scotts Valley upset No. 2 Andrea Servin and Grace Harrison of Soquel to advance to Wednesday’s finals.

The Mariners team of Knight and McMinn won the 2013 doubles championship with a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Scotts Valley’s Desi Rakela and Nicole LaPorte.
