Five youths from Aptos joined the Under 11 Santa Cruz Warriors Black team this year and they had no idea what they were in for and would accomplish. They have played teams throughout the Bay area as far south as Monterey and as far north as Marin. They just completed the regular season undefeated (10 -0-1) and their team is currently ranked the #3 in the Northern CA Junior Lacrosse Association Lightning U11 Division.
After the season ended, the Warriors played in Surf City Lacrosse tournament with ten teams from throughout Northern CA competing. Their team won their first six games and lost a close match in the finals. Their final record for the season was 16-1-1.
The Warriors Black team is one of two Under 11 teams playing for the Santa Cruz County Lacrosse Association and is made up of players from throughout the county. The five Aptos youths are Aaron Buchanan, Shiloh Clark, Lucas Corum, Kale Lampman, and Chase Welle.
