The District will be offering free CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training over the course of six weeks, from April 20, 2016 to May 25, to teach residents how to be prepared in the case of a major incident like an earthquake, flood or other natural disaster. The courses cover everything from shutting off utilities to preparing disaster kits, and even basic emergency triage. Free CPR Class Thursday, April 28
Our very popular and FREE Community CPR class (for infant/child/adult CPR) will be held again on Thursday, April 28, 6:30-8:30 p.m. This class is not a professional certification, but serves as a basic instruction for adult/infant and child CPR, as well as a brief segment on defibrillator pad use. Perfect for babysitters or family members caring for a disabled or at-risk of heart attack family member. Minors welcome, with adult supervision. Annual Firefighters Pancake Breakfast Sunday, May 1
The Local 3535 Firefighters Union presents their annual Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Sunday, May 1, 2016. The event will be held at the La Selva Beach Clubhouse at 314 Estrella Drive, La Selva Beach. Come enjoy pancakes, bacon, eggs and more served up by our local firefighters and their families, while supporting a number of great local causes at our “Fill the Boot” table. The breakfast is $10 per person, with kids 10 and under free. Don’t miss this fun family-friendly event!
