Aptos/La Selva Fire Protection District Firefighters Finish Strong Raising Funds For Muscular Dystrophy Association

Aptos/La Selva Fire Protection District Firefighters, Local 3535, had an amazing one day Fill-the-Boot campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  During their street side collection campaign, Aptos/La Selva firefighters collected an amazing $9,603 on Friday, September 27, 2013 to help provide a better quality of life for local families living with muscle disease.

Proceeds raised during the Fill-the-Boot campaign will help support MDA services and research programs, including MDA Summer Camp (The best week ever!) Support Groups, Wheel chair and leg brace repairs, MDA’s multidisciplinary outpatient clinics for individuals with one of 43 different neuromuscular diseases at The Forbes Norris MDA/ALS Center, The UCSF ALS Center, Children’s Hospital MDA Clinic at UCSF, Stanford Medical Center and Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital.
