Aromas Country Garden Tour 2014

14x14 yellow protea and beeBy Joyce Oroz

The Aromas Country Garden Tour is for garden lovers and folks who want to learn more about drought resistant plants and landscaping. This wonderful event happens Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 10, the day before Mother’s Day. Wouldn’t your mother love to see ten beautiful gardens ranging from small cottage to large farm style? Imagine walking the dappled paths, sniffing fragrant roses and taking in far-away views.

As if the lovely gardens were not enough, artists will be stationed along the paths working on and showing their art. It will be a perfect opportunity to buy direct from the producers of art work such as paintings, fused or stained glass, books by local authors, pottery, sculpture, jewelry and much more.

Speaking of more, 4-H will be selling their jams, jellies, potted plants and box lunches at the Aromas Grange. Master gardeners will be on hand to answer your gardening questions.

The Aromas Hills Artisans sponsored garden tour event is a 22-year-old community tradition and a fundraiser to help support community projects, workshops open to the public and Aromas Hills Artisans events.

Tour tickets may be purchased at the Aromas Grange, corner of Rose and Bardue. $15.00 or 2 for $25.00. Seniors (65 and older) and AHA members are $10.00. Follow the signs.
