On May 19, 2020 several suspects were arrested in connection with the murder and kidnapping of Santa Cruz County resident Tushar Atre.

On October 1, 2019 Tushar Atre was kidnapped from his home in Santa Cruz County and found murdered several hours later at a property in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Details will be released Thursday, May 21, during an 11 a.m. press conference, which will be streamed live on the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
