The Credit Union was able to give a total of $21,898 to the non-profit organization, thanks to a philanthropic award that doubled donations up to $10,000.

Bay Federal received matching funds through the CO-OP Miracle Match program, managed by CO-OP Financial Services, for its creative fundraising methods. Bay Federal employees held raffles, a silent auction, an art sale, a plant sale, and more. The Credit Union effectively surpassed the amount it raised last year by more than $5,000.

The funds will stay at the local level, benefitting the nearest of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System regularly serves ill children in Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties.

“This cause is near and dear to Bay Federal,” said Carrie Birkhofer, President and CEO. “Some of our employees know the children who have received aid from Salinas Valley Memorial on a personal level. It was truly inspiring to see everyone come together to develop and support creative fundraising solutions.”
