Cabrillo Gallery Presents Student Exhibition 2014

Rudolfo_Zavala_UrbanizationExhibit Runs April 21 – May 16.

Reception Saturday, April 19, 4 – 6 PM

Aptos, CA—The Cabrillo Gallery presents its eighth annual Student Exhibition of over 150 works of art representing each discipline taught through the Cabrillo College Art Department.

Cabrillo Gallery, Student Exhibition 2014 is the most comprehensive survey of artwork completed by Cabrillo College Art Department students during the spring 2014 semester. A sampling of work includes paintings, watercolors, mixed media collage, drawings, serigraphs, intaglio, ceramics, sculptures, small-scale metal/jewelry, fiber art, traditional and digital photography and video. The artwork is selected by students and faculty and includes up to three works from each studio class. Although just a handful of work is exhibited, out of the 1200-plus students enrolled in studio art courses, the exhibited works represent an outstanding cross-section of this talent.

As always, the exhibition is designed and installed by Cabrillo College student volunteers. This complex installation job includes the tasks of selecting wall colors, pedestal placement, signage, lighting and the organization of the works of art. A strong installation of galleries within a gallery will be created highlighting the numerous categories of artwork.

Exhibit runs April 21 – May 16.
