CalTrans To Hold Public Hearing For Storm Water Mitigation Project on State Route 17

UnknownSANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Caltrans District 5 will be conducting an Open Forum Public Hearing next month about an upcoming storm water project on State Route 17.

Among the features of this project, Caltrans proposes to stabilize the existing cut slopes on State Route 17 by constructing an Anchored Wire Mesh system from the toe of the slope to about 10-feet beyond the top of the slope. Rock Slope Protection will be placed in locations between the Anchored Wire Mesh sections. Caltrans has studied the effects this project may have on the environment and they show it will not significantly affect the quality of the environment.

The Caltrans Open Forum Public Hearing will be held on:

Tuesday, May 6 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Branciforte Junior High (Multi-purpose Room), located at 322 Poplar Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA

Maps for the proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration and Initial Study and other project information are available for review and copying at the Caltrans District Office on 50 Higuera Street, San Luis Obispo on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm.
