City of Capitola Seeks Community Input on Proposed Skate Park Design

CAPITOLA—The Capitola City Council recently authorized a multi-use recreational park at the City-owned McGregor Drive property, located near the entrance to New Brighton State Beach. The new park will have three components: skate park, dog park and bike park. In an effort to meet the needs of the community, each of these elements are expected to be enjoyed by users of all ages.

The plan calls for a 6,000- to 8,000-square-foot above ground skateboard park fronting McGregor Drive. Community input is needed on the preliminary design for the park. A public meeting will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014, 6:00pm at Capitola City Hall, 420 Capitola Ave. Capitola.
