Coats For Kids Distribution Tuesday

Resurrection Church Knights of Columbus Council #9580 in Aptos, for the eighth year, has collected funds for their Coats for Kids Program.

With generous donations from the parish community, a couple of very generous anonymous donors and the hard work of many of the Council members, the Council was able to raise money to send over 600 winter jackets to the families in Pajaro to be distributed through the non-profit foundation Casa de la Cultura Center, headed by Sister Rosa Delores Rodriguez.

In addition, we expect to send another 300 jackets that will go to All About Children’s foster program in Oroville and Jacob’s Heart in Watsonville. A total of 900 new, warm jackets will go to many children in need this year.

Columbia Sportswear has made available a wonderful assortment of Children’s Jackets in all different colors and sizes for the Knights to purchase at a discounted cost, allowing the Knights to increase the impact of their fundraising efforts.

The drive-thru distribution of coats in Pajaro will be on Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Marinovich Cold Storage facility at 303A Salinas Road, Pajaro, Monterey County for the many children and their families.

The Knights from Council #9580 in Aptos and Councils #958 and #11804 in Watsonville will help with the distribution of the jackets, food, and gifts.
