“Country Nights and Carnival Lights”

2015 Santa Cruz County Fair Selects Theme

Watsonville – “Country Nights and Carnival Lights” will be the foundation upon which the 2015 Santa Cruz County Fair is built. From a list of more than a hundred suggestions submitted by the community, ten finalists were selected and during the year’s first fair department head meeting the winning theme was chosen.

The wining theme was submitted by the Azevedo Family of Corralitos and Katie Azevedo, on behalf of the family said, “I grew up at the Santa Cruz County Fair as the youngest of six kids. My family was involved in 4-H and we always had livestock at the fair. We also took pride in entering baked goods and crafts in home arts. For me, the fair has always been a time to have fun and see friends.” Their family involvement now extends to the next generation; “My kids, Haley, AJ and Carly, are now involved in 4-H and we thought it would be fun to add to our family’s fair traditions by brainstorming theme ideas” Azevedo explained. She added, “We are very excited to have been chosen and hope to see you at the Fair!”

The Azevedo family will receive tickets to the 2015 Fair plus all the fame associated with her theme’s selection.

The Santa Cruz County Fair celebrates the rich agricultural history of our community and people, and invests heavily in bringing this heritage to our youth. The 2015 Fair will be held September 16 – 20 at the Fairgrounds located on Highway 152 just east of Watsonville.
