Deer Park Center Caretaker Roger Botella Remembered

RogerBotella_mug Roger Botella Times Publishing Group Inc tpgonlinedaily.comRoger Botella, the 51-year-old caretaker of Deer Park Shopping Center, was remembered at a ceremony and dedication on Dec. 12. A tree was planted in his name, along with a plaque to commemorate his memory.

Roger died tragically on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Dominican Hospital of injuries suffered on September 20.

Roger was a valued employee of PacCom Management Services, Inc. of Watsonville for the past 11 years. Roger was a fixture at Deer Park Marketplace caring for the property and was greatly appreciated by the all the tenants there and will be missed.


Roger Botella was a not just a caretaker but a friend and respected part of the Deer Park community. Because of their high regard, Roger will have a memorial tree planted and a plaque placed in his honor close to the Red Apple Café.

Botella was born and raised in the Watsonville area. He loved to work on cars, especially low riders, was an avid Raiders fan and was a “Jack of all Trades”. He was a big-hearted person who was always helpful. Above all he was a loving father and was close to his family.

Roger is survived by his children, Roger Botella Jr. of Watsonville and Lasette Botella (Ruben Limon) of Watsonville; brothers, David, Rudy Belmal, Pete, Larry and Jimmy Botella; sisters, Dolores de la Garza, Beatrice Sandoval (Ralph) and Mary Perez (Rosendo); and numerous nieces and nephews.
