The musicians will perform some of the most melodic and beloved music from around the globe, including the world-premiere of Grammy-award winning Barry Phillips’ Dolcissime Suite (2016). Commissioned by Jeff Gallagher and the Santa Cruz Chamber Players, the Dolcissime Suite is scored for mezzo-soprano, flute, clarinet, cello, and piano.
This magnificently crafted chamber ensemble parallels – in miniature — the multi-faceted sonorities associated with the full orchestra and chorus, creating a singular and uniquely soulful chamber music experience. Expressed in songs both with and without words, and in delightful combinations of voice and instruments alone, immerse yourself in the very best that chamber music can provide for your listening pleasure.
