People danced to the tunes of local bands and took home over 50 raffle prizes. Children in the KidZone, drummed, danced, and played miniature golf & games. Saturday, September 23, Soquel came together and raised over $10,033 for Second Harvest Food Bank. That translates into 40,132 meals for children and families of Santa Cruz County. It was truly a day of Food and Music for the Common Good.

A Taste of Soquel, a project of the Congregational Church of Soquel and co-sponsored by the Capitola/Soquel Chamber of Commerce, an annual event since 2009, has raised a total of $62,514 for Second Harvest Food Bank. Using the event’s seven years of donations, Second Harvest has been able provide 243,048 healthy meals to the people of Santa Cruz County.

A heartfelt thank you to all the fine businesses and people of Soquel who donated their products, time, and talent to help provide healthy meals for the people of Santa Cruz County! From the food booths to the KidZone, from the libations to the raffle, and from the shady front lawn to the sunny bandstand, it was truly a day of Food and Music for the Common Good.
