EVACUATION WARNINGS

Due to additional rainfall expected in the San Lorenzo Valley and CZU Burn Scar area over the next several hours, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office reports the following areas are now under evacuation warning:

Due to the rising level of the San Lorenzo River, Paradise Park CRZ-E081 and Felton Grove FEL-E008 are also under evacuation warning. Those who feel unsafe or need extra time, please consider making arrangements now.

This message is to alert residents that an evacuation may be necessary. Zones have been updated for risk of debris flow areas, so residents are encouraged to look up their evacuation zone at https://community.zonehaven.com.


Debris flows are fast-moving masses of mud, rocks, boulders, trees and sometimes homes or vehicles. They move quickly and are often deadly to those in their path. The only way to avoid debris flows is to move to safety prior to any debris flow event. For debris flow information, visit www.santacruzcounty.us/FireRecovery/DebrisFlow.aspx.

If you do need to evacuate, please take the following steps:

The weather forecast anticipates high winds and potential for downed trees and road closures. Residents should exercise caution when leaving their homes during the storm.
