Vehicle Make And Model Identified

On Saturday morning, June 13, at approximately 3:30 a.m. a 25 year old female, Nicole Brown, of Aptos was walking northbound along the east sidewalk of Treasure Island Ave. in Rio Del Mar. Suddenly, a vehicle swerved onto the sidewalk at a high speed and collided with the female pedestrian causing major injuries. Immediately following the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene continuing in the northbound direction toward Soquel Dr. on Treasure Island Ave. The pedestrian was transported by AMR ground ambulance to Valley Medical Center for treatment of her life-threatening injuries, however her condition is stable.

The Santa Cruz CHP has identified the make and model of the suspect vehicle that was involved in the hit and run collision that seriously injured Nicole Brown. Based on the broken headlight pieces, CHP investigators were able to determine the type of vehicle involved as a 2003 or newer VOLVO XC90. The color of the vehicle is still unknown, however, the Volvo will have damage to the right side, including headlight area, bumper and surrounding areas.
