First Saturday Family Concert Series

Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir

Tandy Beal and Company is proud to present Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir in concert on Saturday, February 7 at 11 a.m. This concert will be held at the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Santa Cruz, and marks the beginning of the company’s First Saturday Family Concert Series.

Grammy-nominated Linda Tillery’s vision has been to preserve the music of the African Diaspora. The Cultural Heritage Choir is a percussion-driven vocal ensemble delivering compelling performances that take the audience on a journey through the history of African American music. Coinciding with Black History Month, Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir will share the traditions rooted in the American South. Ms. Tillery has been both a singer and percussionist for Taj Mahal, Bobby McFerrin, Holly Near, Eric Bibb, and many others.

The First Saturday Family Concert Series is the very first monthly family concert series in Santa Cruz and the only local professional multi-arts series. The series offers family access to high-quality concerts and is intended to develop an appetite for live performance in music, dance and circus in the community’s youth.
