The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS) is hosting a Pet Food Pantry for pet owners in need.
SCCAS is taking every precaution to stop the spread of COVID-19 while providing essential services to pets and their owners in the County. The Shelter team understands that COVID-19 had led to unprecedented circumstances for many community members. Unemployment, food and housing insecurity are just a few hardships that pet owners may be struggling with. The Shelter has always been a resource that serves the most vulnerable animals and people in our community and our team is here to help.
Our programs improve the lives of animals with the goal of keeping pets with their owners by providing services and supplies to pet owners who are financially struggling to keep their pets healthy and happy.

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is an open admission shelter which welcomes EVERY animal in need. Our goal is to be a humane resource for the community by providing a safety net and second chance for local animals. There are two locations where owners can find and recover lost pets, adopt new animal companions, or sign up for PLANNED PetHood, our low cost spay/neuter program available for all resident pets. Our success is achieved through a variety of life-saving services and programs which are described in detail on our website, www.scanimalshelter.org. The support of our community is crucial to sustaining and expanding these services.
