
Garcia, who is a real estate mortgage banker in Watsonville with American Financial Network and Bailey Properties, will lead the club during this year, which celebrates the club’s founding in 1978. The Rotary Club of Freedom is one of more than 3,000 clubs within Rotary International and one of the premiere service organizations in Santa Cruz County, with a membership of 42 Rotarians participating in several active committees.
Garcia joined the Rotary Club of Freedom in 2010 and has actively participated in Rotary’s community projects in Watsonville. He is also an organizer in the Relay For Life – Watsonville, raising much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer.
Outgoing President Ron Sandidge, who served the club in the past year, passes the gavel to Garcia at the July 8 club meeting.
Doug Feinsod has been named as president-elect for the 2015-16 year. Also serving the organization are board members who will work with Garcia during his presidential year: Secretary Yesenia Parra; Treasurer Carl Pimentel; and directors Steve Bennett, Ben Post, Jeannie Kegebein, Brian Lockwood, Kathy Morrow, Trina Coffman-Gomez, and Patsy Gasca.
