High Marks for Janus Rehabilitation Facilities

Programs Awarded Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International

SANTA CRUZ — The Janus of Santa Cruz Community Clinic and Janus South County Clinic have each been awarded a three-year certification from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services that “promotes the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement of services that center on enhancing the lives of persons served*.”

CARF-accredited service providers like Janus of Santa Cruz offer the highest level of services to patients seeking treatment for addiction and substance abuse. CARF accreditation is a sign of the continuing advancement of quality and customer service and the two Janus clinics were recognized by CARF based on a demonstration of accountability and conformance to internationally accepted standards and excellent services.

The CARF assessment is an intensive, multi-level evaluation process that covers several key areas, including health and safety, rights of persons served, accessibility, performance measurement, programs and service structure, access to services, transition and discharge, medication use and management, leadership, financial planning and management, records management, core program standards, and much more.

According to Janus Executive Director Rod Libbey, “The three year accreditation is a wonderful outcome and my special thanks goes to Program Director Cecilia Krebs, CARN, and her caring and dedicated staff. High ratings from CARF are earned by providing superior services to patients every day of the year.”

The CARF report noted: “Janus Community Clinic and Janus South County deliver quality services to patients and demonstrate the capacity to conform to CARF standards. The abilities of the staff and leadership team to meet these two marks are exceptional; the organization has a passionate and well-educated staff, robust administrative support team, history of three-year international accreditation awards, and CARF surveyor on staff. Patients are treated with respect and dignity in a safe and therapeutic environment. The organization is acknowledged for its commitment to continuous quality improvement and responsiveness to patients’ needs.”
