Highway 1 Overnight Ramp Closures in Santa Cruz County Re-Scheduled For Next Week For Bridge Work

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – The southbound on-ramp to Hwy. 1 from northbound 41st Avenue and the southbound off-ramp to Hwy. 1 at Bay Avenue in Capitola will be closed on Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13 during the overnight hours from 9 pm to 5 am.

Work was originally scheduled for four nights this week but has been re-scheduled for two nights next week. These ramp closures are necessary so that Caltrans can replace the joints on the Hwy. 1 Bridge at Bay Avenue.

Motorists may detour by using 41st Avenue to Soquel Drive to Porter Street to the southbound Hwy. 1 on-ramp at Bay Avenue.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
