Highway 9 Drainage System Replacement Project Near Ben Lomond Begins Monday

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY– A project to replace the deteriorated drainage system along the southbound lane of Highway 9 from Alba Road to California/Middle Road near Ben Lomond begins on Monday, July 21.

Roadwork consists of a southbound lane closure with one-way reversing traffic control Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and Friday from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Motorists can expect a delay not to exceed 10 minutes. Project is expected to be complete in mid-August.

The contractor for this $120,000 construction project is John Madonna Construction of San Luis Obispo.

 Caltrans reminds motorists to move over or slow down when driving through highway work zones.
