The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance as investigators continue to investigate the death of an infant whose body was discovered alongside Struve Road in north Monterey County.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 1, fire personnel, emergency medical services, and Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of the 100 block of Struve Road after receiving a report of an infant that had been found alongside the roadway. Upon arrival, fire personnel confirmed the infant was deceased.
The vehicle has since been located and recovered by investigators. At this time, detectives are seeking to speak with anyone who may have seen this vehicle or its occupants on Saturday Aug. 1st or Sunday Aug. 2nd, particularly in the area of Struve Road and the surrounding communities, to include the City of Salinas.
