Books make great gifts, and the fair is just in time for the holiday season. The authors— Linda Covella, Eric Hoffman, Marsha Strong-Smith, Diane Landy, Christine Mason, C. Lee McKenzie, Sylvia Patience, and Greta Waterman—will have available for sale and signing picture books and middle grade and teen fiction. They will each read excerpts from one of their books and answer audience questions.
Santa Cruz has a strong reading population that supports our libraries and independent bookstores. This book fair celebrates and encourages that love of reading, especially for young readers.
Indeed, Librarian Laura Whaley says, “The Santa Cruz Public Library is excited about hosting a local author Book Fair at the Downtown library. A significant portion of the Library’s mission is to provide a place where the people of Santa Cruz County can nurture their love of reading, discover something new, and engage their minds; this Book Fair will provide attendees with the opportunity to do all three in one place.”
Admission to the fair is free. A raffle with multiple winners will be held with books and gift cards awarded to the winning tickets. Raffle tickets are free to those attending. Free refreshments will be served.
