Multiple Burglaries and Attempts Near Summit Area

On 4/11/2014 multiple burglaries and an attempted burglary occurred in the Summit area of Santa Cruz County. The burglaries occurred on Jensen Road and outer Zyante Road. An attempted burglary also occurred on Jensen Road while the resident was home.

At about 10:40 AM an unidentified male  suspect knocked at the door of a residence on Jensen Rd. then tried opening the locked door when the resident did not answer the door. The suspect walked to the rear of the residence and tried opening another locked door. The suspect left the residence without making entry to the residence.

The resident went to the street and saw a Hispanic Male Adult or Black Male Adult getting into a silver Ford Focus. The license plate on the vehicle was 6YNM393. The suspect was 20-30 years old, dark complexion, medium build, and 5’6″-5’8″ in height. The suspect became startled and fled in the vehicle after the resident yelled out to him. The suspect fled from Jensen Rd. after burglarizing one residence/


A third burglary occurred on out Zyante Rd. in close proximity to Jensen Rd. Entry was gained through a locked door. No suspect or suspect vehicle was seen in this investigation.

The same Ford Focus is associated with multiple recent burglaries in the Lafayette area.

Residents in the area are urged to secure their residence and be on the lookout for suspicious persons and vehicles. If this vehicle is located or other suspicious persons or vehicles are located in the area, residents are strongly urged not to make contact with the occupants and immediately contact 911.
