National Night Out

This year’s National Night Out celebration will be held on Tuesday, August 5th, 2014. Neighborhoods throughout Santa Cruz County are hosting the event locally and are being asked to join with thousands of communities across the United States for the 31st annual event. Each of the neighborhood events will have a host of activities that may include food, drinks, music, games, and handouts for children. Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office special teams such as Search and Rescue and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) will be on hand to answer questions and provide demonstrations.

National Night Out is designed for local Santa Cruz County communities to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and community partnerships with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency response agencies.
