National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 23

UnknownOn September 23, 2014, Americans will celebrate National Voter Registration Day (VVRD) with a massive 50-state effort to register voters before Election Day on November 4.
In Santa Cruz County, the County Clerk has partnered with county libraries to offer online voter registration or paper voter registration cards to persons wanting to register or re-register to vote.
Library locations and hours on Tuesday, September 23 are:
·        Aptos – 7695 Soquel Dr., Aptos. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
·        Boulder Creek – 13390 West Park Ave., Boulder Creek. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
·        Branciforte – 230 Gault St., Santa Cruz. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
·        Capitola – 2005 Wharf Rd., Capitola. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
·        Downtown Santa Cruz – 234 Church St., Santa Cruz. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
·        Felton – 6299 Gushee St., Felton. 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
·        Freedom – 2021 Freedom Blvd., Freedom. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
·        Garfield Park – 705 Woodrow Ave., Santa Cruz. 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
·        La Selva Beach – 316 Estrella Ave., La Selva Beach. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
·        Live Oak – 2380 Portola Dr., Santa Cruz. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
·        Scotts Valley – 251 Kings Village Rd., Scotts Valley. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
·        Watsonville – 275 Main St., Suite 100, Watsonville. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voters may also come to the Santa Cruz County Clerk/Elections Department located at 701 Ocean Street, Room 201 in Santa Cruz from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and register to vote. Our four City Clerks in Capitola, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, and Watsonville are also joining in the effort and will have voter registration cards for voters to register at their offices during regular business hours.
In addition, the Santa Cruz County League of Women Voters will be on hand at three locations in Santa Cruz County to register voters:
·       Cabrillo College Watsonville Center, Bldg. A, 318 Union Street, Watsonville. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
·       Johnnie’s Market, 13225 State Route 9, Boulder Creek. 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
·       Safeway, 2203 Mission Street, Santa Cruz. 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In light of national elections, the theme for this year’s National Voter Registration Day is “Celebrating Democracy in America.” With 471 congressional seats up for grabs this year and 36 states electing governors, every American is encouraged to register and vote on Election Day 2014.
Thousands of national, state, local organizations and volunteers will be the driving force behind National Voter Registration Day 2014. Partner organizations will coordinate hundreds of NVRD events nationwide and leverage #CelebrateNVRD in all social media platforms to drive attention to voter registration and the midterm elections.
