New Project Completed By 90-Plus Club

SIA_cookbook 90-Plus Club Times Publishing Group Inc tpgonlinedaily.comSince the formation of the Ninety Plus Club in May of 2012, the group has been adding new members and pursuing different interests and entertainment in their monthly meetings.

The latest project has been the compilation of their Recipe Book, which is now available in the Mid County Senior Center. It is an attractive book with a cover painting by member artist Phyllis Kidney and 27 old time recipes by club members. Each page features a photograph of the member and a comment on what it is like to be over ninety and still active.

On Tuesday night, November 19, The Tuesday Night Live Supper Group of the Mid County Senior Center will be featuring the Ninety Plus Club with exhibits of their interests and activities and entertainment by their musicians and poet. Here is an opportunity to enjoy a home cooked meal for $7 and learn about the good points of living into your nineties. Supper is served at 5 p.m.

There will be examples of quilting, jewelry making, horticulture, oil painting, books, sewing, crocheting and knitting, travel experiences and more. One very interesting feature will be Sena Knornschilde’s book, “A Musical History of American Life” consisting of 235 hand-written lyrics of American folk songs with tapes and CD’s of the songs.

Another exciting event will be the next meeting on Friday, November 8. It will feature entertainment by Joe Ferrara, who has been enthralling local audiences for 37 years with his “Love Songs and Fun Songs.” He will bring in audience participation with “Who sang it? and What movie was it from?” This will be on November 8 at 1:00 at the Mid County Senior Center. So, if you are in your nineties or have a family member in their nineties, come and join the fun.
