On June 21st, 2013 at approximately 4:45 pm members from the Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force(GTF), including an officer from the Watsonville Police Department and a sergeant from the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office were on routine gang suppression patrol in the area of Freedom Boulevard at Marin Street, Watsonville, Ca. The GTF officers recognized an active gang participant who was on probation as a passenger in a motor vehicle. 
The GTF officers stopped the vehicle to conduct a compliance search of the probationer. Inside the vehicle they found ecstasy and marijuana they determined was possessed with the intent to sell. Additionally an unloaded concealed handgun was found with the drugs. GTF officers seized $1,190.00 dollars as evidence of drug sales.
The driver, identified as Anibal Gordo-Ruiz was determined to be an active gang participant and arrested for the below violations:
11378 H&S, 11379 H&S, 11359 H&S, 11360 H&S, 186.22(a) PC, 186.22(b) PC, 25400(a)(1) PC, 12091 PC, 25400(c)(6)(b) PC, 12072(f)(2)(a) PC.
The gun seizure marks the 14th gun seizure by the Gang Task Force in 2013.
