Oodles of Poodles Waiting for Homes

POTW_PuppyGallery Poodles Times Publishing Group Inc tpgonlinedaily.comIf you think the only types of dogs you will find at the shelter are Chihuahuas or pit bulls, think again! Right now the Santa Cruz SPCA has a wide variety of poodles, poodle mixes and fluffy types that are all seeking their forever homes.

Each dog has his or her own story to tell.

Muffin Man and Hank are our middle-aged boys who are pretty laid-back and go with the flow. Muffin Man would do best in an adult-only home.

Fancy, Madison and Jasmine are our female trio that are big on love and cuddles. They are moderately active, but seem to crave human attention and affection.

Bingo, Chuckles, Lou and Price are an up-tempo group of boys that love to wrestle and play! All of these boys would do well with older children (6 and up) and seem to enjoy other dogs.

Eli is our senior boy at about 8 years old, and he is oh so sweet and mellow. This gentleman will make the right person very happy because he’s already potty-trained, socialized and extremely easy to have around!

Poodles are considered very intelligent, relatively easy to train, loyal and great family dogs. Each one of these dogs is an individual with different needs when it comes to activity, training and environment. If any one of them calls out to you, feel free to call for more information or come on down!

All of the dogs mentioned are of the hypo-allergenic variety, although no dog is 100 percent hypo-allergenic. This means that although they don’t shed, they have hair instead of fur and they require frequent brushing and trips to the groomers.

Call the Santa Cruz SPCA at 465-5000, or visit www.santacruzspca.org. The SPCA, at 2685 Chanticleer Ave., is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
