Overnight Paving on Highway 9 from Brookdale to Boulder Creek

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY — Caltrans will conduct a four-night grind and pave operation on northbound Highway 9 from just north of Clear Creek/Pacific Avenue in Brookdale to Cresta Drive in Boulder Creek during the overnight hours from 8 pm until 5 am beginning Sunday, Sept. 11.

On Monday, Sept. 12 and Tuesday, Sept. 13 Lomond and Forest Streets will be closed at northbound Hwy 9.  Motorists will detour to Middleton Avenue before reconnecting with Hwy.  9.  Motorists will encounter one-way reversing traffic control during this roadwork.

In addition, Lomond Street, Forest Street and Hwy. 236 will be closed on Monday, Sept. 12 and Tuesday, Sept 13 with traffic detoured to Lorenzo Avenue to reach Hwy. 9

Roadwork hours will be from 8 am to 7 pm. Motorists can expect delays of 15-20 minutes.


The purpose of this maintenance project is to increase the lifespan of this section of roadway.

Electronic message boards will be posted to alert motorists of this roadwork. The CHP will assist with traffic control. This roadwork is being done by the Saratoga Gap South Maintenance crew.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
