Pet of the Week Freddy

FREDDY
(A214494)

Freddy-A214280If only we spoke the same language and animals could tell us their stories!

All we know about this handsome marmalade-&-white fellow is that he was dropped off in a neighborhood where a kind stranger found him, took him in and started feeding him. The rescuer found him “delightful” with a “huge personality” but already had a cat and a dog so she brought him to the Shelter where we discovered that he was chipped. Repeated calls and attempts to reach the registered chip owner revealed a disconnected phone number, inactive email address and an expired chip number.

However, the chip did tell us that his name is FREDDY and that he is almost 8 years old and neutered. His basic personality seems nice and calm and he’s gradually become more cuddly and mellow, social and purring when handled by Shelter volunteers.

While all cats are individuals and each have their special traits (just like we all do!), orange tabbies are famous for “that special something – a sweet nature, an out-going personality . . . friendly and carefree . . . ready to fit into whatever situation they find themselves in . . . “ This seems to be true for Friendly Freddy, once adopted-and-abandoned, but now willing and ready for his new home and his next big adventure!

Interesting footnote: most orange tabbies are male and many famous cats are orange tabbies, including Garfield of cartoons and comic strips, Milo of Milo and Otis, Organgey of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, Jones from the movie “Alien” and Spot from “Star Trek: The Next Generation”. (What will your movie with Freddy be?!)
