DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
On 12/5/13, Agents with the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team Narcotic Task Force (SCCACT NTF), including Special Agents with Homeland Security (HSI) and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), concluded a months-long investigation resulting in the arrest of Keith Atwood.
Agents conducted a controlled delivery to Atwood’s residence with a package he purchased overseas containing over 2,500 suspected steroid pills. Atwood took delivery of the package during the controlled delivery. Agents then conducted a search warrant of the residence and located an additional 1383 steroid pills along with liquid steroids to include Stanozolol, Clomed, Provironum, Oxymetholone, Mesterolone, Testostrone Cypionate, Synovex H, Nandrolone Decanote, and Danabol. Counterfeit Viagra and Cialis were additionally located in the residence.
In the residence was a loaded 380 9mm Kurz semi-auto handgun.
Follow up investigation lead investigators to seize $82,000.00 US Currency believed to be proceeds of the sales of steroids by Atwood.
