Public Invited to Community Workshops about Sustainable Land Use and Transportation in Live Oak, Soquel, and Aptos

County Transit Corridors and Sustainable Communities Plan

www.transitcorridorsplan .org
The second in a series of Community Workshops for the County Transit Corridors Plan for Sustainable Communities is coming in mid May, and will build on the vision developed during the first set of workshops held last October and November. The workshops will be an opportunity for the community to provide input on draft land use and transportation concepts for four neighborhoods in Live Oak, Soquel and Aptos that are serving as sample planning areas for the sustainable communities plan.

The first community workshops led to a vision statement for a sustainable Santa Cruz, and goals and objectives for the plan. At the upcoming workshops attendees will imagine how specific land use and transportation ideas could work in real neighborhoods to move us toward our vision.

We hope you will join us for one of these workshops. Please come share your ideas about:

Economic Vitality • Open Space • Safe Biking and Walking Routes

Land Use • Increased Transportation Choices • Natural Resources

The workshop will be held three times:

Monday, May 13: Simpkins Swim Center, 979 17th Ave, Live Oak

Tuesday, May 21: Santa Cruz Gardens Elementary, 8005 Winkle Ave, Soquel

Wednesday, May 22: Mar Vista Elementary, 6860 Soquel Dr, Aptos

Start Time for all meetings: 6:30 pm

Additional information on the Transit Corridors Plan can be found at the project website, www.transitcorridorsplan.org, or by contacting Sarah Neuse at PLN320@co.santa-cruz.ca.us or 831.454.3290.
