Redwood Mountain Faire May 30 & 31

Start off your summer right!

Benefit for Non-profits at Roaring Camp in Felton

dancingDance the day away to live music with your friends and family while enjoying tasty locally made food, microbrews, and wine in an open field surrounded by redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Join us for a weekend-long music festival and arts & crafts fair that benefits local service organizations and celebrates community.

An eight-member all volunteer committee is ready to raise another $50,000 in two days from the 6th Annual Redwood Mountain Faire (www.redwoodmountainfaire.com) at Roaring Camp in Felton. Over 350 volunteers will staff the Faire this year in hopes to match or exceed last year’s $50,000 benefit amount. Proceeds are donated to over 20 vital Santa Cruz County non-profit organizations. Thanks to an amazing music line-up along with over forty-five juried arts and crafts booths and great children’s activities, the goal is in sight!

Faire organizers are happy to announce the extraordinary line-up of 22 bands. The California Honeydrops embrace traditions of Blues, Gospel, New Orleans Jazz, and early R&B. Birds of Chicago shine with an eclectic set of soul, folk, and blues infused Americana. The Meters Experience, featuring Leo Nocentelli with such classic hits as “Fire On The Bayou” and “Hey Pocky Way,” with a New Orleans vibe to keep you moving! Laurie Lewis and The Right Hands provide exceptional Bluegrass and Americana performers, especially Laurie’s remarkable fiddle and voice, sharing her heartfelt songs.

The Faire has a special feel because of the beautiful venue. Both stages, nestled on oak-shaded Meadow or Creekside in the trees, offer a remarkable variety of national and local performers, enticing folks to arrive early and stay late. Everyone will find their favorites, from bluegrass and blues to rock, r&b, soul, to folk/Americana and the famous Banana Slug String Band returns as a special treat for children and the young at heart.

The Faire also has superior quality, handcrafted arts and crafts, extensive activities for kids, great food, local microbrews and wines, a silent auction, and entertainment surprises each day.

Advance tickets: Adults $20 ($25 day-of); students/seniors $15 ($20 day-of). Kids 12 and under are free. Parking is $5. Information and tickets are available at www.redwoodmountainfaire.com. Tickets are also available at Liberty Bank in Felton and Boulder Creek, Zinnia’s in Scotts Valley, and Streetlight Records in Santa Cruz.

Remember, please, no pets and no outside food or beverages anywhere at the event (there will be a bag-check), and everything happens RAIN or SHINE!
