Riding Everest in the Santa Cruz Mountains

Ortenblad, Hollinger Taking Epic Bike Ride to Raise Money For BLM, Youth Advocacy

Tobin Ortenblad

Dillon Hollinger

Tobin Ortenblad and Dillon Hollinger are undertaking a 210-mile “Everesting” bike ride in the Santa Cruz Mountains to raise money for Black Lives Matter and Bike Santa Cruz County’s Youth Advocacy Program.

Making the ride on Friday, June 12, the goal is to raise $20,000 by climbing multiple mountain trails in Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties, not repeating any climb. The ride is 210 miles long and its combined total elevation will exceed the height of Mt. Everest, reaching 31,000 feet.

Ortenblad has already raised more than $16,000 in support of both causes.
