Ruixue Zhang to Perform for Aptos Keyboard Series

Concert Will Include Works By Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, and Ravel

AptosKeyboard_Ruixue-Zhang Ruixue Zhang Times Publishing Group Inc tpgonlinedaily.comRuixue Zhang is 20 years old, a sophomore piano performance major student at Texas Christian University studying with Dr. Tamás Ungár, former Director of the Van Cliburn Competition. She began her piano studies at the age of four. Recognizing her talent, she was admitted into the prestigious Middle School of the Central Conservatory of Music without audition. In 2010 at the age of 14 she gave her first public recital at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music representing her school.

In 2010, Ruixue received a scholarship from Yamaha Music Asia, and was awarded the third place at the 3rd Kawai Asia Piano Competition in Hong Kong. In March 2011, she received the fourth place at the Hilton Head International Young Artists Piano Competition in the U.S. She won the first prize of Zhou Guangren Young Pianist Award in 2012.

Ruixue has performed at National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and also she has played with China National Symphony Orchestra, China Youth Symphony Orchestra, Central Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Kunming Symphony Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, and Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra.
