Run for Rio 5k raises over $7,000!

First annual run drew over 300 runners to support vital school programs

RunforRio_707-638 Run for Rio Times Publishing Group Inc tpgonlinedaily.comSun and mild temperatures marked the 1st Annual Run for Rio 5K on October 13. The 5K and Fun Run drew many family-focused participants to benefit Rio Del Mar Elementary School. Runners and families were welcomed into the streets around Seascape neighborhoods to participate in this friendly first-time competition. Some competitors even brought strollers, bikes and dogs. Kids of all ages took part in this non-competitive fund-raison run around Seascape Park. The Fun Run (and walk) took place immediately following the event.
