Scotts Valley Performing Arts Center Progress

Raising Money for First Phase of Construction

Plans for creating a new Scotts Valley Performing Arts Center are making progress as the Scotts Valley Community Theater Guild kicks off its Capital Campaign to raise money for the first phase of construction.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of volunteer work have already been donated with the demolition of the interior of the old roller rink and the creation of plans for the new center. Many more hundreds of thousands of dollars have been pledged in labor and fixtures for the coming construction. However, there is still a need to raise a significant amount of money. Plans have been submitted to the City and are awaiting final approval.

Last month the SVC Theater Guild held an estate sale and opened its doors to the public. Many visited and were excited to see the site and discuss the plans with representatives well as make purchases in support of the performing arts center. Thanks to the donation of hundreds of items from the private estate of an anonymous donor, the Guild was able to raise a significant sum.

Following this success The Guild will be holding another estate sale with the goal of raising more funds and increasing awareness of the project in the community. Available to purchase from the estate include crystal, silver, jewelry, Asian arts and crafts, linens, household items, Christmas decor, and many other unique items. The event will be held at the site next to the SV Library on Nov. 5th, 9am to 3pm and Nov. 6th, 11:00pm to 4:00pm.
