Scotts Valley Spa & Boutique

“May all those who enter as guests leave as friends”

BIZSValleySpa_SVmassage2submitted1-1-16 Scotts Valley Spa Times Publishing Group Inc tpgonlinedaily.comWhat comes to mind when you hear the word “spa?” Do you picture a luxurious hotel with lots of rich, glamorous people lounging around in Turkish bathrobes with turbans on their heads? That may have been the case many years ago when only wealthy people could afford a spa. Today a spa is almost a necessity to everyone’s fast-paced and stress-producing life.

Carol Marting, massage therapist, and Julie Lewis, esthetician, which own Scotts Valley Spa & Boutique, have known each other for 12 years. They met while working for another spa in Santa Cruz, became friends, and eventually decided to go into business together. They have been operating Scotts Valley Spa & Boutique since May 2009.

The clean, well-lit, peaceful and welcoming place is relaxing as soon as one walks in the door. Carol and Julie would like the public to know that they and their employees are experts in their respective fields, whether it is massage, facials and clinical skin care, body treatments, waxing, manicure/pedicure, and spray tanning.

It is a well-known fact that healthy people generally take care of their bodies and appearance. Carol and Julie believe that women and men of all ages and teenagers can benefit from the stress-relieving and health-giving effects of a massage and/or esthetic care. Their customers range from pre-teens to clients in their late 80’s who come in for regular appointments to take better care of themselves.

Approximately 16-17% of their clients are men – a number that is steadily growing, and they maintain that it is due to the neutral atmosphere of the spa. Nothing is too frilly or girly about the décor or the feel of the place. Everyone is welcomed with a friendly face and a matter of fact approach that puts all their customers at ease.

Scotts Valley Spa & Boutique is a gracious and warm place, never pretentious or stuffy. Carol and Julie would like us to know that they want clients to feel comfortable, safe, and at home. They want everyone who comes in to relax and enjoy their experience. This is not a cookie cutter establishment; each person gets the individual attention they need to suit their specific concerns.

While waiting for your treatment, the lobby boutique is a fun place to find unusual and interesting items for oneself or as a gift for someone. They carry unique lines of skin care products as well as locally handmade jewelry, bath and body products and other items.

About four times a year, the spa holds a “Customer Appreciation Open House” when clients can come, bring adult family and friends and enjoy mini services, meet the staff, and generally have a good time. There are always plenty of refreshments, discounts and raffle prizes to partake of as well.

In addition, good citizens Carol and Julie support their local clients’ fundraising efforts. When a client asks them to support Scotts Valley Educational Foundation, or Adopt-a-Family, or some other local charitable cause, they have always been happy to do so.

They have a variety of packages available and are happy to provide gift certificates.

So for that person on your list who has everything, how about a gift certificate for services at Scotts Valley Spa & Boutique?
