SYNOPSIS: Second Class is a dynamic series of vignettes that explore current topics like bullying, cheating, athletic injury, sexual orientation, and the ever-timeless flatulence. Second Class is set in the high school outside the classroom. The issues that are touched upon in this play, such as violence, college entrance pressure and stereotyping, inundate today’s news. This show hopes to bring these issues into the light to encourage dialogue within families and schools in our community.

Directed by Karin Babbitt, the students of SVHS are privileged to have the opportunity to stretch their skills in acting, set, lighting, sound design, and more. Babbitt is extraordinary at providing a safe environment for students to achieve more than they knew they could, while gaining important life skills in project management and teamwork. Drama programs like the one at SVHS naturally excel at building self-esteem and community through the arts.
