Second Harvest CEO: No Need to Stockpile Food

Dear Advisors, Co-Chairs, Emeriti, Trustees and community leaders,

I find last night’s KSBW story about Monterey County Food Bank running out of food to be irresponsible and counter-productive.

Willy Elliot-McCrea

2H has plenty of food and more on the way.  Artificial scarcity begets scarcity.  That is the parable of the feeding of the 5,000.

Our vulnerable community needs to know that we will be there for them and that they do not need to stockpile because we are running out of food.

We know and trust that the food needed will be coming our way and we so appreciate the community’s support on so many levels to ensure all our neighbors are taken care of.

Thanks for reassuring the community that we will do everything possible to help the community get through this challenging time.

Abundantly yours,
Willy Elliot-McCrea
