Shelter to Celebrate St. Pittie’s Day Weekend

St Pittie’s Day Times Publishing Group Inc tpgonlinedaily.comTo raise awareness and find good homes for adoptable dogs, the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS) 2200 7th Ave. will host “Saint Pittie’s Day Weekend Celebration” March 17-19 to highlight what loving companions Pit Bulls can be when given the right training, care and environment.

The weekend-long “Adopt-a-thon” will include a pub crawl/fundraiser, free classes by breed experts and free professional pet portraits for all Santa Cruz County owners of Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes. SCCAS will also be offering special gifts for the lucky people who adopt Pit Bulls or Pit Bull mixes, including:

Friday, March 17


First Annual Pit Stop Pub Crawl! — 5 p.m.-10 p.m. 
In-person registration is open at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter, 2200 7th Ave., Santa Cruz (main entrance on Rodriguez Street). Fee of $20 supports free and low-cost spay/neuter services and includes the following:

Unique St. Pittie’s Day Tee-Shirt — Wear your shirt to the Pub Crawl locations as proof of your registration and show your support for this great breed!

Drink specials at local animal-loving establishments including Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales, Discretion Brewing, The Jury Room, Beer Thirty Bottle Shop and Pour House and Brady’s Yacht Club. Check the web for this year’s partners and their specific offers.
